Where to Watch the Da Nang Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026) for Free

Discover the best free spots to watch the spectacular DIFF 2026 fireworks in Da Nang, including riverside locations near Vincom Plaza, Shamballa Restaurant, and the Han River waterfront.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026) is back, and after watching the spectacular opening night, it’s safe to say that this year’s event is already living up to the hype. The festival officially opened on May 30 with an incredible showdown between the Da Nang team and China, filling the Han River skyline with colour, music, and some truly unforgettable moments.

If you missed the opening ceremony, you can watch highlights and clips from my experience here:

The next fireworks night takes place on Saturday, June 6, featuring France vs Vietnam (Z121 Vina Pyrotech) under the theme “Heritage.”

While thousands of visitors purchase grandstand tickets each week, there are still several fantastic places where you can enjoy the fireworks for free.

Best Free Viewing Spots for DIFF 2026

1. Near Vincom Plaza and the Han River Waterfront

One of the most popular free viewing areas is the riverside promenade around Vincom Plaza on the eastern side of the Han River. Since the fireworks are launched from the river area near the Novotel and the Da Nang boat pier, this location gives you a direct view across the water.

Arrive early if possible, as the area becomes extremely busy before the show starts. The atmosphere is lively, with locals, tourists, and photographers all gathering along the riverbanks waiting for the first fireworks to launch.

2. Outside Shamballa Restaurant

The area around Shamballa Restaurant offers another excellent free viewpoint. Located along Tran Hung Dao Street, directly opposite the fireworks launch zone, it provides clear views of the sky above the Han River.

Many people gather on the pavements and open areas nearby, making it one of the best alternatives for anyone who doesn’t have a ticket.

3. The Surrounding Riverside Areas

Even if you cannot find space directly outside Shamballa or near Vincom Plaza, the surrounding sections of the eastern riverfront often provide surprisingly good views.

Simply walking along Tran Hung Dao Street and finding an open spot facing the river can be enough to enjoy the show. The fireworks are launched high above the river, meaning they remain visible from many locations along the waterfront.

4. Han Bridge

The Han Bridge has long been a favourite viewing point for both locals and visitors. From here, you get a unique elevated perspective of the fireworks exploding above the river.

However, be prepared for large crowds and possible traffic restrictions before and after the event. Many visitors consider it worth the effort for the panoramic view. Some recent visitors have also recommended the bridge and nearby Vincom area as good free alternatives to purchasing tickets.

Was the Opening Night Worth It?

Absolutely.

The opening performance delivered exactly what people expect from DIFF: huge fireworks displays, synchronised music, and an electric atmosphere around the Han River. Many visitors online have described the experience as spectacular, and after attending in person, it’s hard to disagree.

With five more competition nights still to come before the final in July, there are plenty of opportunities to experience one of Southeast Asia’s most famous fireworks festivals.

Tips for Watching for Free

Whether you choose the Vincom riverside area, the space outside Shamballa Restaurant, Han Bridge, or simply find your own spot along the eastern bank of the Han River, you’ll still be able to enjoy an impressive view of the fireworks without spending a single dong on tickets.

See you at the next show: France vs Vietnam on Saturday, June 6!
